Events
At JRAD, we host various events focused on educating students, particularly from underprivileged backgrounds, about diplomacy, public speaking, and international relations. We do this through many events across the year. These can include seminars, camps, and other workshops scattered through the year. Check our events tab for more information and dates on this.
Our Mission
The James River Academy of Diplomacy aims to serve students in grades 4 through 8, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds in the Richmond area.
Summer Camp
Our JRAD Summer Camp offers an immersive 5-day experience where students can develop essential skills in public speaking, diplomacy, and Model UN. It’s open for applications!
Our Team
Our JRAD team is made up of students from MLWGS, Godwin, Tucker, Deep Run, and Freeman, all bringing their passion for diplomacy and public speaking. Together, we collaborate to create enriching experiences for students, from teaching Model UN to fostering leadership.
Travel Team
Our JRAD travel team is a dedicated group of students who represent JRAD at prestigious Model UN conferences across the country. We have been to many conferences such as GCMUN and AmeriMUNC, winning many awards with great success
