Hey everyone! Thanks for taking the time to read this month’s update! My name is Ishaan Patankar and I am the treasurer of JRAD. March has been an incredible month for us and we are excited to share some amazing news!
Earlier this year, our delegation traveled to the Old Dominion University Model United Nations Conference in Norfolk, Virginia. After many weeks of training, we were proud to receive the Secretary General’s Award for Best Delegation, which honors the delegation which stood out the most in terms of performance. This recognition reflects the dedication and teamwork shown by every student.
We are also excited to announce that registration for the 2026 JRAD Summer Camp is open. Our summer camp is a Model UN and Debate workshop camp which helps students develop their public speaking and diplomacy. Our team is complete with our award-winning instructors, (who are students at high schools like MLWGS, DRHS CIT, Tucker IB, and Godwin’s CMS) and who compete at MUN conferences all across the East Coast, as well as our “graduated” students who are excited to share their own public speaking experiences. We are more than ready to make this summer memorable for you and your delegate! Whether you are brand new, or you are extremely experienced at MUN, we have levels of training for every single one of you.
If you or someone you know may be interested, the registration link can be found at the top of our website.
And if you haven’t already, make sure to follow us on Instagram to stay updated on all things JRAD!
Thank you for your support of the James River Academy of Diplomacy. Our team truly would not have been able host our programs, events, and camps without YOUR help. If you are interested in donating to JRAD’s programs, we would greatly appreciate a Zelle of any amount to the email [email protected].
We’re excited for everything still to come this year and look forward to seeing many of you at our summer camp.
Best,
Ishaan Patankar
