October Newsletter

Hello everyone!

Thank you so much for reading the James River Academy of Diplomacy’s fourth monthly newsletter. My name is Ethan Xing, and I am honored to be the Chief Executive Officer of the James River Academy of Diplomacy (JRAD). I want to express my gratitude to all the people who have remained behind our mission and take part in our programs. We have been able to grow with more speed and reach more students than ever before with the help of our supporters.

Today, I am excited to announce some significant changes concerning the new project of JRAD and the partnerships that it is developing.

Our Partnership with the Central Virginia Chinese School (CVCS).

We are very pleased to inform you that JRAD has recently signed an active partnership contract with the Central Virginia Chinese School (CVCS)!

It is based on this partnership that we are currently providing face to face Public Speaking and Debate lessons every Sunday at CVCS. These classes are tailored so that the students would gain confidence, polish their communication skills and also gain leadership skills that would go way beyond the classroom.

Our classes focus on critical thinking, persuasion, and diplomacy – the same concepts, which drive achievement in Model United Nations, interviews in professional life, and real life. Students complete interactive exercises, organized speeches and interesting debates each week to make their voice and presence stronger.

This program has been an empowering success till now and we have already witnessed a massive zeal among our students. It is wonderful to see them not only become speakers, but also thinkers and leaders.

The Implication of This Partnership to JRAD.

The partnership is a significant milestone in the mission of JRAD to increase the accessibility of quality education in diplomacy, public speaking, and leadership in Central Virginia.

Our collaboration with CVCS can allow us to engage a larger and more diverse audience of students and close the divide in the educational opportunities that can restrict access to Model UN and similar activities. Our final objective is to create a generation of students that will be capable of communicating intelligently, negotiating humanely, and leading with understanding.

We are still enhancing our educational relationships and looking forward to our 2026 Summer Camp, which will be the continuation of the remarkable success of the past years. Make sure you subscribe to our email list in order to keep informed on registration, events, and new programs.

We also take Zelle deposits, as usual, at (804)-921-5808, in case you are love-struck by what we do and want to contribute to us continuing to grow. Donations greater than 50 dollars have additional sponsorship perks and each dollar will enable us to reach more students.

Thank you to you on behalf of the whole JRAD Board and staff. We have never been more committed to our mission to give young people a voice and motivate courageous leaders, and this is also because of you.

See you next month!

Warm regards,
Ethan Xing
Chief Executive Officer
James River Academy of Diplomacy.
