Hi Everyone!
My name is Yunay and I’m the Vice president of education at JRAD as well as a delegate in my second year of the JRAD travel team. I’m pleased to announce all that JRAD is doing this year, but first, here’s a little about how I got here in the first place.
I was first introduced to JRAD as a freshman when Aditi asked me if I wanted to go to the Old Dominion Model United Nations Conference on JRAD’s MUN Travel Team. Eventually with my double delegate Srihaas Sudhireddy, we ended up winning Best Delegate in our Committee! This whole experience taught me a lot about humanitarian issues today, how to strengthen my voice, and bolster my critical thinking skills, something that without JRAD would have been impossible for me to do.
Now enough about me: here’s a little more about what JRAD has to offer this month. On November 5th, we will be hosting our monthly workshop at Twin Hickory Recreational Center, where our JRAD instructors will teach public speaking abilities, as well as communication and Model UN skills! The event runs from 6:30 to 8 and it’s a great opportunity for students interested in Model UN or Debate to learn more about how the world works, and how to convey ideas confidently.
Also on the 5th is our podcast with Plenty Positivity where our fabulous Chairwoman, Aditi Inamdar, and Director of Finance, Ishaan Patankar, speak about the importance of public speaking in young teens today, and how having a voice in this world makes all the difference.
Alongside this, our travel team is getting ready for its first round of training for our upcoming college conferences, and our newly appointed Vice Captains Prithwish Chatterjee and Adwaith Krishna Renjith are going to give their all to keep our delegates in tip top shape. Our first conference is Columbia Model United Nations, so make sure you send support at (@jr_diplomacy1) on instagram!
JRAD is expanding like never before, and with our travel team, workshops, and events, we can access more and more students through more free and beneficial education. We invite you to get involved this year as we get prepared for JRAD 2027 and the programs to come!
Finally, take a look at our social media pages, like our instagram and facebook to see our Outreach team in action. Please also consider donating so we can continue supporting young teens’ education for free.
Thank you for all for the support,
Yunay
