Hello everyone! 

I’m Srihaas, and I’m the Vice President of Finance and Legalities here at JRAD! I am currently an 8th grader at Moody Middle School, and if you’ve met me at a conference, you would probably find me being weirdly enthusiastic about MUN, socializing with other delegates, or somehow still discussing my committee after the conference was adjourned. 

I first got involved with JRAD through their 2025 summer camp and eventually climbed my way up to a Vice President position and a member of their travel team. Since joining, JRAD has provided me with an indispensable number  of MUN memories, and I’m excited to continue doing the same for others as a JRAD representative in the coming months. 

Since this is a newsletter, and not a bio, I’ll stop yapping about myself, and focus on what JRAD has done in recent times and what we plan to do in the future. As of now, we’ve hosted a booth at IAVA and FOI, and are currently organizing monthly MUN workshops at theTwin Hickory Recreation Centers. Safe to say, our volunteers are loving every second of our outreaching going into the school year. 

To elaborate on JRAD’s plans, we are happy to announce our November Workshop, taking place on 11/5 from 6:30pm to 8pm! The workshop will be focused on helping you guys develop your public speaking and Model UN skills. With our team of accomplished instructors , we can provide the feedback and help needed for your development. Our November Workshop will have additional registration information coming out soon, so before then make sure to subscribe to our Mail List (linked on our website) and receive updates about this workshop and future initiatives.

We are also getting ready for another exciting Travel Team season. This year, among many other conferences, we’ll be traveling to: 

• NHSMUN (National High School Model UN)
• MUNCH (UNC Chapel Hill MUN)
• HMUN (Harvard Model UN)

Outside of conferences and workshops, JRAD has involved themselves in the community through our volunteering and outreach events. If your organization or school is hosting an event and you believe JRAD could help, please reach out to us.

We have an Instagram(@jr_diplomacy1) and Facebook page, documenting our progress and initiatives along with updates on our upcoming workshops and events. There’s so much planned for the rest of the year, and we would hate for you to miss out on everything we have planned.

I’m really grateful to be a part of JRAD and especially thrilled to see what we can do this year. Whether you’re someone who just discovered the diplomatic wonders of MUN, or an experienced delegate who is hunting down their next competitive conference, we have a plan for you here at JRAD!
